On our jumpers we are proud to have the services of the experienced James Reveley & Ritchie McGrath, up and coming Kyle James (conditional) , and talented lady Amateur Harriet Bethell. Phils policy now is to use the best available on the flat.

Pictured here is James riding Aggie with Phil leading up. James was a former leading British Junior showjumper before turning to racing, winning at the Horse of the Year Show. He has had many major race wins now, including over one circuit of the big Aintree Fences in great style in 2009, making all. He rides many top horses for Guillame Macaire in France during the summer and in 2010 won the Italian Grand National.

Here is Kyle winning impressivley on Avanos last summer. Kyle joined us in Autumn 2010 from Malcolm Jeffersons, and rode some good winners for us, including four cracking wins  on ‘Simply Smashing’ – the Hexham win being a legend of race riding that you simply must see! He is excellent value for his 5lb claim. Kyle has now left us to work for Brian Ellison,  and more opportunties on his bigger yard, but he continues to ride for us and we wish him every success as he is talented and dedicated.  Looking forward to renewing his partnership with Simply Smashing in the summer of 2012.

Phil Kirby…..John Wayne? Here he is pictured riding ‘The Tollah’, for Ferdy Murphy – his first ever ride and a winner at Sedgfield. he was going that easily Phil wondered if he should be going round again! Phil pulled his boots back on (or rather Joel’s boots) for a comeback at the grand age of 32 at Alnwick Point to Point riding our own ‘Into the Light’ and duly came 2nd. It was nearly a perfect day – can he get it all together and win the Grimthorpe Gold Cup on Simply Smashing on April 1st?
