Past Horses

.
Our Past Winners and not so fast horses!

Private sales and loans only of our past inmates, and we ask everyone who has a horse that was trained by us to please keep in touch and let us know if they go to a new home. We know where almost all of them are, and we endevour to find the very best homes for them when their racing careers are over. If you are looking for a nice horse please do email us your details and we can keep them on file. Currently we have one for sale and one for loan – 2 very special chestnut boys with top potential showing/dressage.

We hope you enjoy the photos below:
.

‘Waking Ned’ and Pippa Kirby
‘Whatever You Think’ (Foggy)
‘Benrajah’ and ‘Be My Manager’
Much missed, the potential star ‘Spud’

‘Captain Kinka’
‘Snurgecal’ (Smurf and Claire)
‘Show Potential’ (Dolly)
‘Thorsgill’ (Chessy)

Also not raced but in training - Captain Kinka (pictured above, 3rd row left) now with Monique doing novice Riding Horse, and very much loved.
 Others newly updated…

Colonel Sherman – Now standing at Groomsbridge Stud at Newmarket . Sherman has a lovely new home and we are excited to see his first foals in 2013! He is a wonderful boy with superb maners, and we are sure he will enjoy his career change.

Play the Rock - Now in an experienced new home at Snainton with former Veterinary nurse, Helen who runs a thriving Livery Yard.  Pierre severely brusied his spinal chord when falling over loose in the field, and he has made an amazing recovery, so much so he is now being ridden again and is very much loved by his new owner. A very happy ending.

Panama at Once – This lovely 11 year  has gone back to his owners for an honouable retirement.

Cherrycake - Not suited to racing but this big, kind mare went back to her owners to pursue a career as a showjumper/RC allrounder.

Galileo Figaro – He also returned to Panama Sports Horses, his owners, and we look forward to news of his next venture. Fig was a smashing little thoroughbred and a very keen jumper.

Hoppy’s Flyer, and Plus Ultra…Have left us to stables new. We wish them luck.

Hazy Oaks – The talented but quirky was Hazy was sold to go pointing but no doubt excited by how well Hazy works at home, she has been seen out in a handicap hurdle – not placed, but we wish her and her new owners The Wombleton Syndicate  the best .

Princess Tahoe – Another talented and very good looking mare but unfortunately rather fragile. Princess is having a year off and is  in foal.

Treeko – Now with one of the UK’s top show producers and judges,  Danielle Heath and being produced to make a top class hack / ROR.  Photo below right trotting.

Steveys Lad – Retired from racing and ready to fly the flag in the show ring for Philip Kirby Racing in 2012.  His ultimate aim – to qualify for the Horse of the Year Show. Sue will be taking up the reins and has the job of re-schooling him this winter.

Croftbridge- After failing to follow in his dams successful hoofprints, Crofty swiftly retired from racing and joined Jenny who has worked part time for us, she plans to do some hunting and eventually retrained racehorse classes.

Freedom Flying – Fly has not gone far – she is now in Malton with the James family and has been bought for Kyle’s younger brother to get some race riding experience on.

Monfils Monfils – Now owned byClaire Hodgson from Durham, a lovely experienced home – read about their progress on www.myfifthhorse.blogspot.com

Be My Manager – Sadly recently lost to colic in a loving home  with Jill and Krysta where he spent 2 very happy years.  (pictured below right with Krysta)

Waking Ned – Our 4 time winner has a home here for life. Competed.with success ROR classes.  Now on loan to former head girl Lesley and having great fun hunting, showing and general hacking where he is ridden regularly by Lauren.

Benrajah – The wonderful Benny very sadly died of a heart attack when racing.

Nightboat to Cairo - Rehomed 10/4/2010 with Laren Barker from Hull – we wish her the best of luck with this versatile little mare who will compete once re-schooled.. Photo below left with new owner Lauren aboard.

Show Potential – Living with Sue, one of her former owners and just had a lovely colt foal by Rainwatch. Injury forced her retirement. Look out for her foal Trean Reva coming into training as a 4 year old, he is the image of his dam.

Thorsgill – The athletic and elegant Chessie competes with success Eventing and ROR classes, still  with his owners who raised him as an orphan foal – his is a very special story.

Astral Dram - Now a much loved hack and hunter with Bev from Stokesley

Spud - Very sadly lost to complications after colic. A potential future star who is much missed by us and his owners.

Double Diva - Now in a lovely experienced home just 20 minutes away and being re-schooled for ROR and show classes.

Billy Bowmore - Successfully re-homed but since moved on and we have lost touch – any info gratefully recieved please.

Whatever You Think – Foggy has recently been sold again and we hope he stays in his new home with Amy as he is a lovely honest boy.

Snurgecal - a wonderful home for life with our good friends Claire and Dave. Will be doing some retrained racehorse classes.    Thoroughly enjoys his Endurance rides and is a thoroughly happy, pampered member of her family.

Jonnos Dream - Having fun now with  with Sarah Barker from Manchester and being spoiled rotten! Photo below right at her new home..

Jungle Lion – now in a lovely home hacking and doing a bit of everything.

Cherryland - Back with his owner Gordon Bonus and going pointing in 2012.

Yawl Springs – The beautiful grey ‘Springs’ was given a warm summer out  and every chance to come right after considerable box rest but sadly his pelvis injury deteriorated and very reluctantly he was put to sleep in August. Photo below with his friend ‘Earl Grez’..

Graysland - We very sadly lost Gracie during a routine anaesthetic given when having her injured tendon repaired. It was a great shock to lose such a lovely young mare and she had run with such promise on her debut for us. Photo below on her first and only run for us.

Pennek – This very handsome dark bay has a super new home with Caron Fear from Leicestershire. He will be going Hunting and Showing in 2012 and we hope to bump into him in the show ring with ‘Stevey’s Lad’!
