 Welcome to our website…

And a yard in which keeping  the horses relaxed, happy and fresh is our number one priority.

A little about the yard and its stable stars..If you follow our small yard regularly you will by now know that we have a good win & place record to runners and in the short time he has been training, Philip has had much success with cheaply bought horses, a number out of sellers and claimers. ’Elspeth’s Boy’ is the latest success story – bought for just £1500 from Tatersalls in October 2011, he won at Redcar a week later. Here he is pictured with Phil and his youngest daughter Indiana at home.

Dibble Bridge Stables is also home to 2011 Durham National winner, ‘Simply Smashing’ bought by Phil for just £2200 and now the winner of seven races for us. he is pictured below right being ridden in the sea by Head Girl Sarah Olley.

Don’t forget to regularly log on to our NEWS page for daily updated goings on at the yard + a new video updated most weeks.  Any questions or suggestions, we love to hear from you so send us an email.

Dibble Bridge is also home to a small number of  top class show ponies,  visit Pippa’s  websites

We had better start with a bit of background information….

The beginning…What a start! Without a previous Point to Point runner to his name, Lancashire born Philip (son of well known Greyhound trainer Geoff Kirby) ended the 2007 season as Britains leading Hunter Chase Trainer, beating the likes of Jonjo and Paul Nicholls, and all with just 4 horses. 2 of these had never jumped a steeplechase fence on a racecourse before!

Waking Ned wins on debut for Philip.

Philip collected his award at the National Point to Point Dinner, and by Christmas he had applied for his full licence.

The Facilities At Dibble Bridge Stables

Sheltering in a valley of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors, this compact yard provides a wonderful atmosphere for the horses. We aim to make their lives here as varied and interesting as possible with daily turnout in large grass paddocks, plenty of hill hacking, long steady canters on Redcar beach (invaluable when everones gallops freeze!) and the use of Keith Reveleys superb 6 furlong all weather gallop as well as a 4 furlong grass gallop 2 miles hack over the hills.

We have schooling fences and hurdles on site (photo on the gallery). Each horse is treated individually and the attention to detail is quite obvious when you see how superb our horses look in the paddock at the races, examples of which can be seen in the gallery section. Owners are always more than welcome to the yard, and a newsletter is provided every month with news, results and upcoming running plans.

In February 2008, the cheaply purchased ’Amazing King’ (a legend in our yard!) became Philip’s first winner over jumps as a Licensed Trainer. He was also later Phil’s first winner on the flat at Wolverhampton.

Amazing King and RUssell Kennemore

King registers his 6th win for us.

Starting with just 4 horses 4 years ago, the yard now has approximately 14-16 in full training at any one time, and despite the steady rise in numbers, the attention to detail and unique atmosphere at this happy, relaxed yard hasn’t been compromised.
